UAE Petrol Price August 2026 + New Salik Toll Charges List

uae petrol and toll gate prices augest 2026 (1)

End of the month is here… which means petrol price tension 😅

Every month on the 28th, the UAE Fuel Price Committee announces new rates. And every month I forget to check until I’m standing at the pump with my card out.

So let’s break down August 2026. Did petrol get cheaper or more expensive? And I’ll also cover the new Salik toll charges because driving in Dubai = petrol + Salik, both hurt the wallet.

August 2026 Petrol Price UAE – Official Rates

The UAE government announced the new rates on July 28, 2026. These apply from 1st August to 31st August 2026.

Fuel TypeAugust 2026 Price
Super 982.90 AED per liter
Special 952.80 AED per liter
E-Plus 912.73 AED per liter
Diesel2.70 AED per liter

I filled up in Sharjah at ADNOC yesterday. Full tank cost me 185 AED. Alhamdulillah, that’s 8 AED less than last month.

For official updates check ADNOC and ENOC websites.

July vs August 2026: Price Increase or Decrease?

Here’s the difference compared to last month:

  • Super 98: 2.98 to 2.90 = 8 fils down ✅
  • Special 95: 2.88 to 2.80 = 8 fils down ✅
  • Diesel: 2.78 to 2.70 = 8 fils down ✅

Good news this time. Global oil prices dropped so UAE followed.

Note: Prices are the same across all 7 emirates. Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah… no difference.

Salik Toll 2026: New Charges and Rules

Now that petrol is cheaper, let’s talk Salik 😂

RTA didn’t change much for 2026. Current Salik rates are:

  • Normal Hours: 4 AED per crossing
  • Peak Hours 6AM-10AM & 4PM-8PM: 6 AED per crossing
  • Daily Cap: Maximum 35 AED per day

What’s new? 2 new Salik gates were added in January at Al Safa South and Al Mamzar North. So if you go from Business Bay to Deira, expect 1 extra Salik now.

Pro tip from me: Don’t let your Salik tag balance go low. The fine is 100 AED. I’ve paid it twice already 😭

Check all details on the official RTA Salik page.

3 Ways I’m Saving Fuel in UAE This Month

We can’t control prices, but we can control usage. Here’s what’s working for me:

1. Avoid Traffic

Don’t leave at 5pm on Sheikh Zayed Road. 30 minutes stuck = 2 liters wasted. I leave office at 4:30pm now.

2. Balance AC and Speed

Driving 140 with AC on full blast burns fuel. I keep it at 110-120 and AC at 24. Makes a real difference.

3. Use ADNOC Rewards / ENOC Pay

Download the apps. You get 2-3 fils back per liter. Saves me 20-30 AED every month.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do UAE petrol prices change?

Every month on the 28th. New rates start from the 1st of the next month.

Is petrol cheaper in Dubai or Sharjah?

No. The rate is fixed by the government and is the same across the UAE.

Should I use Super 98 or Special 95?

Check your car manual. For Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, Special 95 is fine and saves you about 20 AED per tank. Only sports cars really need Super 98.

Final Thoughts

August brings a small relief. 8 fils down means I’ll save around 30-40 AED this month driving 50km daily.

Salik is still there though. Just try to avoid peak hours if you can.
